The first 130 registrations received will be eligible to claim for reimbursement for travel by automobile at the rate of 53¢ per kilometre. The first 130 registrants will also be eligible to claim for reimbursement for accommodation costs to a maximum of $100 provided they must travel more than 200 kilometres return to attend the conference.
Delegates that qualify for the travel allowance will receive expense claim forms and directions for completion of the form in their conference kits. Receipts for accommodation must be submitted with the expense form. Expense claims are to be submitted at the end of the conference and cheques will follow by mail.
MIX & MINGLE
A mix & mingle, with a cash bar, will follow keynote session on Friday, October 18, 2013. One free drink will be provided.
The Deerfoot Inn and Casino has a block of guest rooms for conference delegates at a special ATA conference rate of $149 (plus taxes) per night; single or double occupancy. Conference delegates are responsible for making their own accommodation arrangements directly with the hotel and payment for their own account. To obtain the conference rate call the hotel prior to September 20, 2013 and use the group code “GMSATAE, Alberta Teachers’ Association” as the reference. After this date, reservations will be on a space-available basis only and the conference rate cannot be guaranteed.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHER LOCAL CHAIRS
A meeting for the chairs of local substitute teachers committees will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 during the lunch break in the program. The meeting will be held in the Lake Bonavista room from 1200-1300 with the option for chairs to continue the meeting until 1330, if they wish.
